Hello everybody! Coming soon to the LSM website: our official Fringe 2005 photo gallery which will have an excellent compilation of cast and crew photos from this year’s production. Also, we’ll soon be putting up a new homepage design to reflect our in between show status…
And very shortly there will be more information available right here as to what you can expect next from the LSM team so make sure you check in regularly to see the exciting stuff we have planned for the next year.
With Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2005 over I have put together a postscript on how it all went. Please read on for my thoughts and some audience reviews of Table Manners.
A Wrap Up: Well, it’s officially over. August is no longer and after 21 performances Table Manners’ premiere season is at a close. I must say that after an intensive couple of months putting the show together in time for the festival I was completely stunned at how professionally and seamlessly the cast performed throughout the run.
The biggest on stage disaster we had through 21 shows was Klaus’ candle refusing to light one day. This is no small accomplishment but is instead a comment on how tight the cast was, ready for any situation, working together even on days with smaller audiences, to deliver the play with as much energy, focus and determination each time. I would like to congratulate them on a fabulous season and again express my pride in knowing and working with such a wonderful team.
As part of a festival which hosts 1800 shows and boasts an average Fringe audience of 6 people our smallest audience was 16, our largest 71. Perhaps not a sell out, but as far as I’m concerned a success none the less. Although we had many reviewers in over August, no reviews were published in the newspapers, which was disappointing, as even a bad review would have made for some good publicity! The cast were awesome and I would have liked to see them more recognised. We did a get a mention on Festival FM radio however and are in the process of getting the tapes of this.
What we did get however was a number of reviews written by audience members and posted on the Edfringe website. Their feedback was lovely and encouraging and in some ways better than a newspaper review as they wrote their comments completely independently, not getting paid to do so but simply people who wanted to reflect on a piece of theatre they had seen while in Edinburgh over the festival. We have included our favourite of these reviews here.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We’ve opened! Congratulations to the terrific cast of Table Manners and to the awesome team who have helped put it all together. We have gone live, 2 previews and 2 shows so far, played to an appreciative audience who have laughed and applauded no end. With 18 shows still to go we have no doubt as to a sure fire success and will keep you posted with any reviews that come through. Our first press were in the audience today…
Please make sure you book your tickets ASAP so you don’t miss out.
And yes, that was Klaus and his minions you saw on the High Street today inviting people to come experience his wisdom and restaurant etiquette during his last shift at the infamous Hot Pot (aka Café Royal Main Theatre). You will no doubt see him again as he is adamant he “still has a few more things to share before he closes his doors…”

It's hard to believe that we open in just two weeks. Time moves so quickly! But here we are, rehearsing like crazy, tying together little pieces, gathering props and costumes and preparing ourselves to hit the stage. We have an excellent production on our hands and are very excited for its premiere. So hurry up and book your tickets and come see for yourself! By the by, keep an eye out on the streets of Edinburgh for Klaus who seems to have a propensity for appearing in odd places offering his unique brand of hospitality service...

Ever complained about your food? Is the customer always right? Is Tipping really a place in China? Tasty theatre served at it’s finest; today’s special is a hilarious course on the do’s and don’ts of restaurant etiquette.
Welcome to Table Manners. Our exciting new production, premiering at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2005. Once again we have teamed up to write and produce a play, this time set within the hospitality industry.
Why hospitality you may ask? Well, we’ve all had our fair share of restaurant experiences, whether it is serving or being served, so we can relate to both the good and bad elements of the dining event.
Table Manners brings you to the Upperton School of Restaurant Etiquette.
Let Klaus, our German maitre d’ and his team teach you the finer elements of culinary conduct. From booking to seating, eating to tipping, from pub grub to fine dining, we can assure you our course delivers a feast of laughs for all.
