About Us

A word from the Boss!

Elise Even-Chaim (Bachelor Performing Arts Honors)
Manager/Producer/Director/Writer/Motivator/General Schlepper

I created Living Stone Media to provide a forum for new ideas or projects within the arts industry to be developed, performed, displayed whatever the case may be. Inspired by the ideology behind such production companies as Dreamworks LSM came about as a result of myself and colleagues sitting around (yes I’ll admit over a pint…) and discussing the dreams we have of putting on shows, dancing, acting, singing, sculpting etc and wondering how on earth we were ever going to make it happen.

I always say that Nike got it in just one with “Just do it” and I often find myself frustrated with people who talk but don’t act on their ideas.

I’ve been saying for a long time how much I’d like to be doing my own theatre and I was sick of saying it and not doing it. Now I am. I have found creative talented people who want to work with me and let me help them make their dreams and my own come true.

It’s about the process of realizing a feeling of accomplishment, setting out to do a task that you are passionate about and knowing you have given it a go and been brave enough to take the first steps to making your presence known.

I will produce, create, direct and have the privilege of working with and witnessing the amazing talents of the people around me.

Today:

With our second production underway, Living Stone Media is set to take Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2005 by storm with Table Manners, our new play. Once again through the collaboration of amazing talents such as those possessed by Justin Gould, Leon Hanrahan and Katherine Green, Naisha and I are able to realize the dream of creating theatre the way we want to.

This year we are going bigger and better. We have secured a venue with a seating capacity of 130, three times the size of last year's space! We are performing 21 shows over the 3-week festival, one week more worth of shows compared to last year. We are playing in Café Royal's main theatre, a well established and long running festival venue.

We are also setting in motion plans for Living Stone Media's growth and expansion over the next year. We are looking into touring opportunities, and with our growing repertory of new works, we are researching performing at different festivals throughout Europe in 2006/2007.

We will continue to establish ourselves as a group of people passionate about the arts and devoted both to creating new and producing pre-existing works with little compromise and great success.
